ASSISTANT PSYCHOLOGISTS, OUTREACH TEAM, AND LIVED EXPERIENCE GUIDES
-
Lulu Luckock, Social & Emotional Learning Consultant
Lulu's professional life has focused entirely on working with children at primary school age. Having initially trained and worked as a teacher, in recent years her training and career has evolved to focus on social, emotional and behavioural challenges that children present and that their parents, friends and schools must contend with.
A core part of Lulu's work at The Soke is to provide help to parents whose children present with behavioural problems unrelated to mental health in a clinical sense. She is able to visit parents at home to develop a sense of their child's way of being in order to help them identify goals, establish new routines and behaviours, and ultimately create a more harmonious environment for the whole family.

Sarah Webb, In-School Therapist
Child & Adolescent Therapist Sarah has over 15 years’ experience working across NHS and private services. She initially worked in an eating disorders in-patient service, and more recently on an NHS general adolescent unit delivering both group and individual therapy. She is an Occupational Therapist further trained in CAT, DBT and EMDR. Sarah is also able to complete ADOS assessments.
Since January 2022, Sarah has been a member of The Soke’s Outreach Team and has been embedded as an in-school therapist at one of the leading co-educational independent schools in London.
In this capacity, she has not only delivered crucial one-to-one therapeutic support to pupils and teachers, but also provided us with the opportunity to amalgamate wellbeing data that is useful to the school’s pastoral and cultural leads.
-
Rebecca McDonnell, In-School Therapist
Therapist Rebecca works with children and adolescents presenting with a wide range of problems. Her approach is integrative and evidence-based, and she draws on different methods depending on what is needed, including Internal Family Systems, EFT, CBT, Attachment and Trauma-Focused Therapy.
Since January 2022, Rebecca has been a member of The Soke’s Outreach Team and has been embedded as an in-school therapist at one of the leading co-educational independent schools in London.

Sarah Vinall, Trans-Gender Parenting Support
As a mother of a trans child, Sarah has navigated the journey of parenting a gender-questioning offspring from adolescence to adulthood, and can bring her personal experience of that journey as a potential source of guidance to other parents of gender-questioning children.
As well as working individually with a parent or couple, Sarah brings her experience and guidance to the Trans-gender Parenting Support Group which takes place at The Soke on Thursday evenings.

Lizzie Pickering, Grief Guidance Counsellor
Lizzie has spent over two decades helping individuals back to life and work following a major loss.
Since the death of her eldest son Harry 23 years ago, Lizzie has become passionate about changing the landscape for people who have to face life and work when they are living with grief. Her firm belief is that if grief is faced and worked through gradually, if people are well supported, there is a rich seam of energy to be found from not only surviving it but living well.
Focusing on grief in the workplace, Lizzie provides extensive support for professionals and executive teams within organisations ranging from boutique law firms to global consultancies, where she advises on loss, transition and respecting boundaries.
Lizzie also offers Grief Guidance & Education through single presentations or ongoing courses to schools and retirement residences.
OUR PURPOSE
Our mission is to make mental health care less daunting and to provide users of private behavioural health services with the sense of trust and security needed to properly engage with the process of betterment.
Based in South Kensington, we are a Care Quality Commission registered organisation, providing the full spectrum of psychotherapy, psychiatry, child psychology, adult psychology, counselling and coaching services in an environment that’s been created to ensure both the physical and the emotional comfort of all who walk through its doors.
In addition to providing reactive services for adults, adolescents and children, we support a proactive approach to psychological well-being through recognition of its impact on professional performance and personal development. Our goal is to promote acceptance of emotional and mental health as one other faction of a positive lifestyle choice, no less important than the physical.
THE BENEFITS OF GROUP THERAPY
Whilst the thought of group work may be off-putting to those who cannot imagine sharing their problems openly to multiple people, there is plenty of evidence to show the clinical effectiveness of group therapy. Putting together individuals who can speak without fear of judgement; with complete confidentiality; able to share and offer mutual support and understanding under the auspices of an experienced practitioner, it is often the case that advances are made in faster time than is often the case in one-to-one therapy.
To find out more about the group sessions that we offer, please contact us through this link.
“The dilemma of taking our teenager to see someone was the topic of discussion in our household for months. Once we had the option to go somewhere ‘non-clinical’ it was a no-brainer.” – parent
“The feedback we’ve had from the Mental Health MOTs has been very positive and the amalgamated reports have been really helpful in highlighting some corporate culture issues.” – senior partner, finance sector
“It feels like a very safe space and everyone that I’ve encountered has been so helpful, kind and welcoming. It’s made therapy a lot less daunting than what I previously experienced it to be.” – adult client
